Donation of the Month
Named after the famous children's book The Giving Tree, our Giving Tote bag is a way for us to give back to our communities. 20 percent of the proceeds will go to a chose organization of the Month.
For Pride month, we have chosen The Love Wins Food Pantry to support. The Love Wins Food Pantry was created to address food insecurity caused by the economic consequences of COVID. Volunteers in the neighborhoods of Jackson Heights and Elmhurst noticed that all the food pantries in the area were operated out of churches, so they wanted to create a resource for the community that centered and celebrated queer people. Love Wins operates out of a neighborhood gay bar, Friends Tavern.
Love Wins provides free food to anyone who needs it, no questions asked. Each week, this team of volunteers feeds about 400 families through their pantry. Members of Love Wins have also taken a leading role in coordinating support for 500 neighbors affected by a huge apartment fire, helping raise $350,000 in direct payments to the displaced tenants and delivering meals to the families while they are living in hotels.
